，《GQ》杂志通过访谈 IGN、PC Gamer、GameSpot、Video Games Chronicle、Polygon 等多家知名游戏媒体，以及 Ninja、Sunpi、Autumn 等游戏主播，基于 300 名游戏开发者、记者、主播的数据制作了有史以来 100 款最佳游戏榜单。

《GQ》在制作榜单的过程中，还调查了 Xbox、Sony、Ubisoft、Sega、Riot、Bethesda、Blizzard、Naughty Dog、Insomniac、Bungie、Santa Monica、Arkane、BioWare、Guerrilla、CD Projekt RED 等游戏工作室的员工和高管。

《GQ》还采访了 Neil Druckmann、Raphael Colantonio、Joseph Fares、Tim Schafer、Sam Barlow 和 Dan Houser 等知名人士，汇总了他们的观点。

本次共邀请了 300 人进行投票，每个人都需要筛选出 10 款个人喜欢的游戏。

然后第一名记为 10 分，第 2 名记为 9 分，以此类推，第 10 名记为 1 分。在 300 名受邀者中，有 239 人给出了个人评分，其中有 652 款游戏获得 1 分。
